JAIPUR: The Jhunjhunu-based Sri Ramkrishna Jaidayal Dalmia Seva Sansthan has instituted Rs.1-lakh annual award for exemplary and innovative efforts in conservation and agriculture. In the first year the award is be confined to individuals or communities in the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. Thereafter the selection would be at national level. The award, to be known as Sri Ramkrishna Jaidayal Dalmia Pani Paryavaran Puraskar, would be given away in September-October every year. The entries for the award would be solicited till June. According to Raghu Hari Dalmia, industrialist and patron of the Dalmia Seva Sansthan, the award is meant to promote conservation activities in the rural areas of Rajasthan.Vishnu Hari Dalmia and Sanjay Dalmia are the other patrons of the award while the advisers include Magsaysay Award winner "Waterman" Rajendra Singh and Anupam Mishra, of the Gandhi Peace Foundation, Delhi. M.S.Rathore of the Institute of Development Studies, Jaipur, heads the five-member award committee.
