HYDERABAD: The CPI (M) State committee has called upon people to defeat the `communal' BJP and `corrupt' Congress in the forthcoming byelection to the Karimnagar and Bobbili Lok Sabha seats. The two-day meeting of the party's State committee that concluded here on Tuesday, however, did not take a final decision on extending its support to a particular political outfit. The meeting expressed concern over the `anti-people' policies being adopted by the State Government and the incidents of `corruption' seeing the light of the day that were `harmful' to the interests of people. The party opined that the increasing incidence of corruption in high places resulted in Volkswagen's decision to move out of the State. It was `shameful' that Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy supported the Government's stand on the issue instead of rectifying the lapses.
