Mobile phone firms launch insurance scheme

HYDERABAD: Birla Sun Life Insurance and Idea Cellular, two leading companies of the Aditya Birla Group, have announced the launch of group term insurance cover an innovative concept wherein pre and post paid subscribers of Idea Cellular in the age group 18 to 35 can avail of free life insurance.

All that the subscribers need to do is download a dial tone from the bouquet specially created for the alliance and forward basic details like age through an SMS for receiving free life insurance cover of Rs. 10,000 for a year. Announcing the launch at a press conference on Tuesday, Idea Managing Director Sanjeev Aga and Birla Sun Life Director S.K. Mitra said customers desirous of availing the facility must be active on the system.
