ROADSHOW: Bharatiya Janata Party leaders addressing a gathering in Hassan on Tuesday after the arrival of `Panchajanya Ratha'.
HASSAN: "Panchajanya Ratha", which is on a tour to educate people about the Datta Peetha at Bababudanagiri in Chikmagalur district, arrived to a traditional welcome at Channarayapatna on Tuesday. It was taken in a procession to the Hemavathi statue in front of the KSRTC Bus Station. C.T. Ravi, Chikmagalur MLA and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, who addressed the gathering, said that records available with the Endowment Department showed that the place was all along called "Datta Peetha". Mr. Ravi said Datta Peetha was brought under Mujurai Department in 1926. The Baba Budangiri Darga had survey number 57 and was on a different land. Mr. Ravi urged Janata Dal (Secular) president H.D. Deve Gowda to visit Datta Peetha on December 4. BJP Hassan district unit president Dayanand, its vice-president Navile Annappa, Prasanna, Kamal Kumar and Hassan Kumar accompanied the "Panchajanya Ratha".
