Globetrotters encore in the city

BANGALORE: Harlem Globetrotters plan to get back to Bangalore to play its "farewell match'' on the India tour on November 24 at the Sree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium. After playing the first two matches at the same venue, the Trotters had gone on to do shows in Hyderabad and Chennai. But even at those venues, a lot of fans from Bangalore turned up, said Anil Kumar, Country Head of Sportz India, which managed the Globetrotters tour. "The response from Bangalore fans had been tremendous and that was the reason, we thought they should play the final match also here," Anil said.

The tickets for the November 24 show, scheduled to be played from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., are available at Casa Picola outlets and at Landmark, besides the venue.

SBM in final

State Bank of Mysore (SBM) defeated Vijaya Bank by six wickets and entered the final of the Industries cricket tournament. Vijaya Bank, batting first made 123 in 24.3 overs and SBM reached the target in 19.5 overs with good knocks from K.N. Ramesh (50) and L. Viswanath (45).

BCI badminton tournament

The Bangalore City Institute will conduct a State-ranking badminton championship from December 2 to 10. The events to be conducted include boys' and girls' under-10, under-13, under-16 and under-19 singles and doubles, men's, women's and veterans' singles and doubles. Further details can be had from S. Rapid chess championship
