HYDERABAD: One-hundred-and-twenty designated photography locations are being established for the capture of images and issuance of electoral photo identity cards (EPIC) to residual voters in the 13 Assembly constituencies of twin cities from November 27 onwards till publication of the final rolls by April 27, 2007. Preliminary work on integration and consolidation of existing rolls and preparation for printing of integrated photo rolls for verification at the time of house to house enumeration for `Partly intensive revision of electoral rolls' will begin from November 27 to December 31. Following is the schedule: House to house verification, inclusion of names of eligible citizens, capture of photos of balance electors and newly enrolled will be taken up from December 28 to January 26. Draft publication of electoral rolls will be done by February 25. Filing of claims and objections will be done between February 25 to March 13, disposal of claims by April 11 and preparation of final publication of electoral rolls on April 27. The 13 constituencies under the MCH jurisdiction has 3,900 polling stations and the number of electors as per the rolls published on January 1, 2006 was 42,35,291 among which 25,55,171 have been issued with EPICs so far. As many as 16,80,120 electors are yet to be issued the cards. Photos for the newly enrolled and those who did not receive EPICs will be done between December 28 and January 26, 2007. EPICs for the freshly enrolled will be given only after final publication of the electoral rolls. If the EPIC number is indicated in the electoral roll but no photo is available, a fresh photo will be taken and EPIC will be issued free of cost. The photo electoral rolls will be prepared in Telugu and Urdu also.
