Freedom fighters' plea to Government

Puducherry: Forum of the Freedom Fighters Associations has called upon the administration to raise the monthly pension given to them from Rs. 3,000 to Rs.7, 000. M. Periasamy, president of the forum, said in a release here on Wednesday that the Centre had raised the pension amount to Rs 10,000 for the freedom fighters under central scheme. He said that the forum at its general council meeting held here on Wednesday adopted a resolution urging the administration to declare November 1 a public holiday.
