HYDERABAD: Two scooter-borne miscreants kidnapped a financier from Falaknuma on Wednesday morning and later released him after snatching Rs. 800, a mobile phone and motorcycle from him. Thirty-five-year-old Raj Kumar Lalwani, a resident of Aliabad near Lal Darwaza, was going towards Falaknuma on a motorcycle to collect money from debtors when the miscreants intercepted him and forcibly took him on his vehicle to a hillock at Shastrinagar in Falaknuma, the police said. The kidnappers then called Kumar's brother Jagdish over phone and demanded Rs. 30,000 as ransom to release him. Jagdish and his family met the police who, in turn, launched a manhunt to trace the offenders. However, the kidnappers later released Kumar and escaped with his valuables.
