Double tragedy for family
According to the police, Prof. Garg, who had been undergoing psychiatric treatment, locked himself up in his room around 8 a.m. and threatened to jump to his death from the balcony. His son Sudhir rushed to the ground floor to try and persuade his father not to take the extreme step. But the retired professor did not pay any heed and leapt off the balcony, falling on his son. While the professor died on the spot, Sudhir collapsed with a broken collarbone. He was rushed to nearby Ayushman Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. An engineer, Sudhir worked with the Power Grid Corporation and was posted at its Adhchini office in South Delhi. He is survived by his wife and two minor sons. While one of his brother lives in Rajasthan, the other lives with his family in the US. His father had retired from a Rajasthan college.
Maintenance work at airport
As a result, commercial power supply to the airport would not be available from November 23 to 25 from 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. However, to ensure that the operations are not hampered, the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) will provide power back-up using diesel generators. "The time slot of 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. has been selected as there are a very few flights during this period," said a DIAL spokesperson.
