PUTTAPARTHI: Satya Saibaba has called upon people to shun violence saying that the teachings of Buddha on non-violence have more relevance today. He was addressing agathering in the newly-constructed Sri Satya Sai International Centre for Sports on the occasion of 25th convocation of Sri Satya Sai Institute of Higher Learning here on Wednesday. Explaining about true education, Saibaba said righteousness would lead the man in the right direction. Earlier, the sports centre was inaugurated by Saibaba and President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
New complex
In an inaugural sports event, India and Sri Lanka played the second volleyball test match in the stadium. India won the match . Prominent sports personalities Kapil Dev, Prakash Padukone and R.S. Rathore attended the inaugural. Kapil Dev said the new indoor sports complex would be a paradise for sportspersons. Vice-Chancellor of the institute Anil V. Gokak said the indoor sports complex was the biggest such facility in the country. Ramesh S. Shetty, adevotee of Saibaba and practising cardiologist from California, donated Rs. 40 crores to the Satya Sai Central Trust.
