Channels gear up for the Thiruvambadi bypoll
Almost all major television channels in the State are camping with their crew to cover the Thiruvambadi byelection. News channels such as Asianet, Kairali, Indiavision and Manorama have assigned a cameraman and a correspondent to beam the electioneering scenes. "We have come with an out-door broadcasting Digital Satellite News Gathering (DSNG) unit to telecast time-sensitive events, " says Shibu Joseph, north Kerala bureau in-charge of Manorama News.
Shajahan, chief reporter of Asianet, says the DSNG terminal helps the channel to provide live coverage of campaigns, family get-togethers and conventions. One of the attractions is the live talk show, he adds.
