CHITTOOR: District Collector S.S. Rawath has said that irrigation sources' development will be taken up under Andhra Pradesh Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme by Incad and Panchayat Raj department so as to create durable assets for enhancing the productivity of lands in rural areas. A meeting of Mandal Revenue Officers, Mandal Parishad Development Officers, Programme Officers, Special Officers and others was held here on Thursday. The Collector said that two teams would be constituted for carrying out the works. He also announced the work schedule for the programme. The officers would convene gram sabhas in each panchayat and select three tanks on priority basis between November 24 and 29. From November 30 to December 10, estimates for the selected works will be prepared with full details. The estimates of the tanks will be approved by the concerned mandal praja parishad from December 11 to 15. Approved works of the tanks will be sanctioned by the Collector and sent to mandal parishad from December 17 to 19.
