Advocates protest against case on colleague

Staff Reporter

KADAPA : Advocates demonstrated before Kadapa district court complex on Thursday demanding withdrawal of an SC/ST case booked against advocate G. Sai Kumar.

They also demanded the arrest and suspension of two constables Yakob and Vijaya Kumar who assaulted the advocate and were booked in an attempt-to-murder case. Decrying the attack, advocates have been boycotting courts for the last three days. Kadapa Superintendent of Police Y. Nagi Reddy did not meet advocates when Bar Association president G.V. Raghava Reddy went to him to apprise him of the cases, they alleged.

Advocates alleged that an SC/ST case was foisted on Mr. Sai Kumar, who was admitted to RIMS hospital here. Kadapa west Circle Inspector V. Narayanaswamy Reddy told newsmen that the advocate and the wives of two constables clashed and cases were booked on two complaints.
