KATHMANDU: In his first political comment since reinstating Parliament in April, King Gyanendra on Wednesday expressed pleasure over the peace agreement and appreciation for the contributions of all in this regard, the local newspaper, The Himalayan Times, reported on Thursday. King Gyanendra said he was pleased by the peace agreement that was signed in keeping with the nation's needs and people's aspirations. ``King Gyanendra appreciates the contributions of all those involved in bringing to end the bloodshed, violence and terrorism and hopes that by ensuring sustainable peace, a prosperous Nepal can now be built with the collective efforts of all the Nepalis through multiparty democracy,'' the Press Secretariat of the Palace stated in a notice.
