NEW DELHI : United Progressive Alliance Chairperson Sonia Gandhi will address the 22nd India Economic Summit 2006 to be hosted here by the World Economic Forum and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) from November 26 to 28. The theme of the summit is `India: Meeting New Expectations.'According to CII president R. Seshasayee, the tremendous response received from the global business participants more than 200 overseas companies with over 350 CEO and board-level participants from 32 countries is a clear reflection of the global business community's increasing interest and growing confidence in India as an investment destination. "The summit has now become a recognised platform for discussing and debating issues that shape India's economic future." Ms. Gandhi will speak on "Meeting new expectations" as well as present the "2006 Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award".Other prominent speakers from India include Union Ministers P. Chidambaram, Kamal Nath, Murli Deora, Anbumani Ramadoss, Kapil Sibal and Sharad Pawar, and Montek S. Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission.
