NEW DELHI: The 125th birth anniversary of Sir Chhotu Ram will be celebrated at Talkatora Indoor Stadium here this Sunday under the auspices of Akhil Bharatvarshiya Jat Mahasabha and Deenbandhu Sir Chhotu Ram Birthday Celebration Committee. Announcing this here on Thursday, Akhil Bharatvarshiya Jat Mahasabha president Virendra Singh said: "Deenbandhu Sir Chhotu Ram, who passed away in 1945, had left an indelible imprint on the pre-Partition Punjab province. He was secular to the core and strove to improve the lot of the poor peasantry across the country, particularly in Punjab. From a humble village background he rose to a position of power and influence as a leader of peasants." "We will demand that Jats be given reservation in Central Government jobs."
