HYDERABAD: AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh has said that the byelection to the Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat cannot be construed as a referendum on Telangana. "The Congress does not agree with the stand taken by TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao that the bypoll is a referendum," Mr. Singh said at a press conference after his return from Karimnagar here on Thursday. He expressed confidence that the party would emerge victorious in both Karimnagar and Bobbili Lok Sabha seats. Terming the BJP's move to introduce a private member's Bill on Telangana in Parliament a `political stunt,' he reiterated the party's stand not to support the Bill.
