Case dismissed

Staff Reporter

Rajahmundry: The district court on Thursday dismissed election petition filed against Mayor of the Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation M.S. Chakravarti by G.V. Harsha Kumar, MP from Amalapuram.

The Mayor said the judgment was a moral victory for the TDP. On February 23, 2002, Mr. Harshakumar filed a petition in the district court, alleging that his opponent had indulged in large-scale irregularities during the Mayor election. The court dismissed the petition as the petitioner failed to show evidence.
