Easy win for Siddarath

KOCHI: Top seeded S. Siddarath (Tamil Nadu) scored an easy 6-0, 6-4 win over Advait Satish Kirtane (Gujarat) and entered the boys' under-16 singles final of the MBTA-AITA junior tennis tournament at the RSC courts here on Thursday.

In the final, Siddarath will take on teammate and second-seeded Irfan Hussain, who overcame the challenge of Sodha Luv (Maharashtra) 6-3, 6-3 in the second semifinal.

The results: Boys: Under-18 (quarterfinals): S. Siddarath (TN) bt Naveen Sai (TN) 6-2, 6-3; Irfan Hussain (TN) bt Aravind Vishnu (AP) 6-4, 6-3; S. Siddarath Kaushik (TN) bt Yatish Anand (Kar) 6-1, 6-2; Reynold Timothy (Ker) bt Vinoy Kamenini (AP) 7-6(1), 7-5.

Under-16 (semifinals): S. Siddarath (TN) bt Advait Satish Kirtane (Guj) 6-0, 6-4; Irfan Hussain (TN) bt Sodha Luv (Mah) 6-3, 6-3. Quarterfinals: S. Siddarath bt Naveen Sai (TN) 6-2, 6-3; Sodha Luv bt Vishnu K. Jinan (Kar) 6-2, 6-1; Advait Satish Kirtane bt S. Kamal (Kar) 6-3, 6-1; Irfan Hussain bt Varun Sathyanarayanan (Kar) 6-3, 6-1.
