Jawan among two killed in J&K

Srinagar: A jawan was among two persons killed by ultras in Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Thursday.

Militants shot dead the security jawan near a hospital lane at Kangan in Srinagar district on Wednesday evening, a police spokesman said. He said militants also shot dead a shopkeeper, Shabir Ahmed Lone, at Zaloora-Sopore in Baramulla district on Wednesday evening.

A Hizb-ul Mujahideen militant surrendered in Anantnag district. He had recently infiltrated from Pakistan.

Security forces arrested an over-ground worker of the Hizb outfit at Aloosa-Bandipora in Baramulla. Five RPG boosters and two Chinese grenades were recovered.
