"Mother's pride" programme for expectant mothers unveiled

CHENNAI: A programme that focuses on helping pregnant women maintain an equanimous state of mind throughout pregnancy and after child birth was unveiled in Chennai on Wednesday evening.

According to N. Madhumati, director of Aspire SuperKidz, a city-based multinational children's education company, the programme seeks to enhance the physical, emotional and intellectual development of a baby right from the early pregnancy period.

Activities

The programme, "Mother's Pride", includes various activities that will make the expectant mother be at her best states of energy and enthusiasm with methods of communicating and bonding with the unborn.

Gynaecologists, paediatricians, child psychologists, dieticians, and Yoga experts have compiled the programme.

Gynaecologist Kamala Selvaraj launched the programme on Wednesday.

One-day programme

Ms. Madhumati said it is a one-day programme for expectant mothers, with an option for the father to participate.
