Geniuses in the making

WHEN MANY reach out for pocket calculators constantly for simple arithmetic, these four children from the State, including one from Bangalore, did us proud at a national competitive event for mental arithmetic and memory tests.

The event was the National SIP Abacus, Brain Gym and Mental Arithmetic Competition held in Hyderabad. These children all aged around eight, are Rajarajeshwari from Hoskote, Vinay Kumar from Bangalore, Haricharan from Bangarpet and Smruti Inamdar from Kolar.

Between them they solved 120 complicated arithmetical sums in two minutes flat.
