Teachers walk the ramp on Children's Day



DRILL: Children of upper kindergarten section at the sports day held in MES Kishora Kendra, Malleswaram, in Bangalore.

BANGALORE: Children from APSA, a social organisation, made the Children's Day memorable at Ryan International School, Kundalahalli. Children thoroughly enjoyed the programme presented by teachers. The highlight of the programme was the vegetable jewellery fashion show with the teachers walking the ramp wearing vegetable as jewels. Principal Cynthia Doraiswami emphasised the need for discipline.

Overall champion

The athletic team of the Army Public School bagged the overall champions' trophy at the inter-school sports meet organised by Vagdevi Vilas School, Munnekolalu. Principal Padma Viswanathan congratulated the team.

Sports day

MES Kishora Kendra, Malleswaram, conducted annual sports day for the upper kindergarten section recently. Group and individual games were organised. Prizes were distributed. Principal Prahlad Rao was present.

In all enthusiasm

Children's Day was celebrated with excitement and enthusiasm at National Public School, Koramangala. The Montessori teachers performed foot-tapping Bollywood numbers amid huge applause. Another group of teachers presented Opanna, a traditional dance form of Kerala. The programme ended with a video presentation on childhood. Principal Bindu Hari was present.

Talents day

Carmel School, Padmanabhanagar, organised `Talents Day' recently. Students exhibited their talent in various competitions. The programme ended with the prize distribution ceremony. A. F. Kudroli, chairman of the institution was present.

Prize winners

Mohammed Munzir and Mohammad Hammad, students of Al-Ameen High School, Hosur Road, won the first prize in the inter-school debate competition conducted by YMCA. They received a rolling trophy for the second consecutive year. "Unchecked growth of MNCs brings destruction to Bangalore city's environment" was the topic of the competition.

Exhibition

Premier High School, Srirampuram will organise an exhibition "Karnataka Darshana" as part of "Suvarna Karnataka" celebrations on November 24. It will throw light on the rich cultural heritage of the State. Uma Rani, Subject Inspector, Deputy Director of Public Instruction's office, will inaugurate the exhibition which will be open for the public from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
