BMP levies fine on property owners

Following action against those dumping construction materials and debris on the public utilities, Bangalore Mahanagara Palika (BMP) has imposed fines on two individuals for violating the orders. A release issued here by the BMP said a fine of Rs. 50,000 had been imposed on the owner of a building who had dumped construction material and building debris on the pavement of Richmond Road. In another incident, the owner of a property on Magrath Road who damaged the slabs over the drain during the construction of a building was fined Rs. 50,000. Besides, the BMP officials seized a tractor that had been parked at the construction site.

Orissa team's visit

A team from Orissa State Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation visited Karnataka recently to study the programmes and policies implemented for the development of backward classes in the State.

Laughter meet

About 150 laughter clubs in Bangalore are coming together on November 26 to conduct a humour and cultural programme at Jagadguru Renukacharya College at Anand Rao Circle from 10.30 a.m. For details, call 9880143262.

Satsang

As part of Suvarna Karnataka celebrations, the Federation of J.P. Nagar 7th and 8th Phase Resident's Welfare Association will organise "Divya Satsang" of The Art of Living on November 25. The programme, which will be conducted by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, will be held at RBI Layout Ground (in front of Capitol School Institution) between 6 p.m. and 8.30 p.m.

Arthritis camp

Hosmat Hospital and the Rotary Club of Bangalore will jointly conduct a free arthritis check up camp on November 26. The camp will be held at Hosmat Superspeciality Hospital, Magrath Road, between 10 a.m. and noon. There will be a symposium on "Arthritis and its management". Heart check-up
