BANGALORE: The new Administrator of Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) Dilip Rau on Thursday said he would hold regular interactions with citizens, members of various residents' welfare associations and legislators to effectively address their grievances. "There is no need for people to fear that there are no corporators to get their civic problems redressed. They can approach me and Commissioner K. Jairaj, officials at the zonal level and also at the head office if they have any problems," he told presspersons on Thursday. "I will hold regular meetings with MLAs and MLCs to know citizens problems and if necessary will inspect wards. I will try my best to function effectively and fulfil the citizens' expectations," he said.
Meeting today
Mr. Jairaj, who said he would work in coordination with Mr. Rau, said he would lead a delegation of top BMP officials to Delhi to participate in the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) meeting on Friday. "We expect to get infrastructure projects estimated at over Rs. 660 crore approved through this meeting on Friday. A tripartite agreement will be signed among the Centre, State and BMP to execute all JNNURM projects," he added.
