Railways to augment coaches

Thiruvananthapuram: The Railways have decided to augment one additional coach in five pairs of Express trains from November 24 to December 7 to clear the heavy rush of Haj pilgrims. The additional coach will be augmented in the 6329/6330 Thiruvananthapuram-Mangalore Malabar Expresses, the 6347/6348 Thiruvananthapuram-Mangalore Expresses, the 6349/6350 Thiruvananthapuram-Mangalore Parasuram Expresses, the 6305/6306 Ernakulam -Kannur Intercity Expresses and the 6307/6308 Alappuzha - Ernakulam Kannur Expresses, according to a railway release. The Railways have also provided one minute temporary stoppage for three pairs of Express trains at Feroke railway station from November 24 to December 7 for the benefit of Haj pilgrims.

Thiruvananthapuram: The City Corporation Secretary has suspended Aji Kumar, the watcher of the slaughterhouse, in connection with the alleged assault of the photographer of the Mathrubhumi daily, G. Sivaprasad, on Wednesday.
