`UPA going back on its promise'

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Senior BJP leader Vijay Goel on Thursday accused the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance Government of going back on its promise of carrying out a Constitutional amendment to put an end to the sealing and demolition exercise in the Capital. "There is no sign of any such move from the Government even as the winter session of Parliament has begun," he added.

In a statement, the former Union Minister also demanded that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and the Delhi Development Authority be disbanded and their premises sealed as the Supreme Court monitoring committee, which was virtually running the affairs of the civic body, was doing everything.
