NEW DELHI: Even as traffic around Connaught Place and Ramlila Grounds here was thrown out of gear due to the rally organised by the All India Trade Union Congress on Thursday, there seems no end to Delhiites' traffic woes that will continue on Friday in view of a procession being taken out to mark the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur. On Thursday, motorists and commuters in Connaught Place, Barakhamba Road, Tolstoy Marg, Kasturba Gandhi Marg and Ranjeet Singh flyover had a tough time in view of the huge rally taken out by the AITUC. The traffic police had already advised motorists to avoid these areas. On Friday, the procession will start from Gurdwara Sisganj at about 10 a.m. and terminate at Gurdwara Rakabganj Sahib in the evening around 7 p.m. As a result, traffic in several areas of Central Delhi, North Delhi and New Delhi is likely to be affected. The procession will pass through Chandni Chowk, Chawri Bazar, Ajmeri Gate, Panchkuian Road and Bangla Sahib Road. The traffic on main roads of these areas will be diverted to other roads. The traffic police have advised people to use Delhi Metro as far as possible and also resort to car pools.
