Tuticorin Alkali back on profit mode

CHENNAI: Tuticorin Alkali Chemicals and Fertilisers has reported a net profit after a period of six years with the net profit at Rs. 4.34 crore for the year ended September 30, 2006, against a loss of Rs. 5.14 crore in the previous year. The cash profit has risen sharply to Rs. 9.88 crore from Rs. 46 lakhs. The company produced 86,496 tonnes of soda ash and 76,027 tonnes of ammonium chloride. During the year the company commissioned a plant for the manufacture of ammonium bicarbonate based on its own in-house technology.
