News Analysis
* A reader points out that in the feature "A slice of Kancheepuram and Kalakshetra in Kazan" (November 24, 2006), the correct name of Lenin should have been Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov (Lenin)/V.I. Lenin, and not Vladimir Ulyanovich Lenin, as was published. The Nikitin expedition, referred to in the report, is by 14 Indians, including academics and adventurers, who began a journey from St Petersburg on November 12, 2006, following the trail of explorer Afanasy Nikitin. It will trace a 500-year-old overland trade route (10,000 km) from a town near Moscow to Mumbai. It is the policy of The Hindu to correct significant errors as soon as possible.
