BJP to move adjournment motion

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI : The Bharatiya Janata Party will move an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha on Monday over internal security.

Deputy leader of the party in the House V.K. Malhotra said the notice for the motion was likely to be given on Monday morning, as the procedural rules demand.

The Government had indicated that it was willing to discuss any subject under any rule or motion if it met the approval of the presiding officer.

Mr. Malhotra told reporters that the Government had little to show by way of achievements. It had failed to send out a stern message to terrorists.

Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil, at a recent conference of police officers, said all major infrastructure installations in the country, including nuclear, were targets of terrorist groups.

"Never before has the scenario been more frightening," Mr. Malhotra said.
