Pass it now: Brinda Karat

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: Brinda Karat, Polit Bureau member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), on Friday said she favoured the tabling and passing of the Women's Reservation bill this session of Parliament.

Talking to presspersons here, she said the Standing Committee should be asked to submit its report within a time frame to ensure that the bill was passed.

On the volte-face by the Rashtriya Janata Dal, Ms. Karat said the allies of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) were unanimous on the introduction of the bill but the RJD chief Lalu Prasad had his own view on the issue.
