PUDUCHERRY: The Reddiarpalayam police have registered a case against an art teacher in a private school and a special officer of the State Lalith Kala Akademy for threatening Subramanian, a former student of the government-run Bharathiyar Palkalai Koodam, over phone. Police said cases have been filed under sections 294 (uttering obscene words in a public place) and 506 (criminal intimidation) read with section 34 (common intention) of IPC against the two. Mr. Subramanian had been urging the government to implement schemes for artists under the State Lalith Kala Akademy. Annoyed with the petitions, the art teacher had allegedly threatened Mr. Subramanian on phone. Mr. Subramanian recorded the conversation and filed a complaint with the police.
