Bangalore: Most often children learn by rote and forget what they studied in no time. As someone rightly said, if students understand the subject and study, they will be able to recollect it easily. Amit Bansal, Hemant Somani and Vinay Nijhawan are trying to teach children just that to understand the concepts and skills, so that application becomes easy. Their unique programme is called "Think A+" that builds a child's learning and thinking skills. Mr. Somani told The Hindu on Thursday that what parents commonly called silly mistakes were not actually errors. They were the result of flawed learning. "Our model has proved to be effective for the development of skills during the formative years," he said. "Think A+" conducts learning programmes in mathematics, science and English for students from standards one to 10. He also said the "Think A+" programmes met the parental anxiety of child's academic performance. The course content was customised to the individual needs of the children, which was assessed by a test, Mr. Somani said. Pramila, a parent, said that after enrolling her child Likith in the programme, she saw a lot of improvement in the boy. "His vocabulary has increased. He used to be a shy child, now he is very confident," she said. They have one centre at Koramangala and five satellite centres in and around Koramangala.
