Fake currency seized

City police on Saturday arrested six persons on charge of circulating counterfeit currency and seized the fake currency bundles. Among the arrested were Makthal MPTC member K. Srinivas Goud and Mirzapur village `sarpanch' G. Venkateswar Reddy.

Murder mystery solved

Begumpet police on Saturday solved the mystery behind the murder of a sexagenarian widow Jamuna Bai with the arrest of a garment shop worker Syed Wasim Ahmed. Ahmed confessed to police that he befriended the woman with his sweek talk to rob her of the heavy jewellery she wore.
