GUNTUR : Youth from all over India participating in the Bold `n' Beautiful 2006 competition organised by the Rotary Club of Guntur displayed various facets of traditional Indian dressing in Guntur on Sunday. Sixty-five participants, 30 of them girls in the age group of 18 to 25 wore Kanchi Pattu sarees, salvars, ghaghras and our own traditional half-sarees mirroring their attitudes during a brief walk on the ramp to display their clothing style at Shubham Kalyana Mandapam.
Special talent
For the past three days all the participants were tested on their aptitude and general knowledge in addition to special talents in dancing and singing. The proceeds from the evening organised here would go to improving the basic amenities of Municipal Schools in Guntur. The organisers expect to collect more than Rs.2 lakh out of the programme. In the first round the judges looked for confidence among participants, the way they dressed, the way they presented themselves on the stage and uniqueness of their attire. The programme convener Janardini and club secretary K. Lakshmi Prasanna were present. Yelamanchi Mohita and Mazar Ahmed respectively were the winners of Ms. Pep and Mr. Apache titles of the competition.
