BANGALORE: College fests are fun, something that students look forward to after months of cramming inside the four walls of their classrooms. If their marks certificates reflect their time spent inside the classrooms, college fests are all about showcasing their talent in extra-curricular activities. Once out of colleges, it would be these fun events that people recall first than their academic feats. From hyperactive quizzes to cerebral debates, college fests are all about competing with team spirit. Of course, students take the contests seriously, sometimes very seriously.
`Perceptions 2006'
The other day, the M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Management students organised their 11th All-India Management Festival called "Perceptions 2006". Participating colleges were from all across town and outside. At the end of several hectic competitions, the students of Bhavan's SIET Institute of Management had every reason to sport big smiles. After all, they had emerged the overall winners, grabbing the Best College trophy.
Best Manager
Individuals shone as well. Vidya from P.S.G. Institute of Management, Coimbatore, for instance, won the Best Manager trophy. Students from ICFAI, Chennai, also topped in several contests. At the end of the three-day event, the organising college had more reasons to prepare for the 12th edition of the annual fest, to be held next year.
