Isolated rain in T.N.

CHENNAI: Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Lakshadweep and south interior Karnataka and dry weather prevailed over Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, coastal and north interior Karnataka.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres: Sathankulam (Tuticorin dt.) 6, Nanguneri (Tirunelveli dt.) 3, Srivaikuntam and Tiruchendur (both Tuticorin dt.), Vaniyambadi (Vellore dt.), Kulithalai (Karur dt.) and Musiri (Tiruchirapalli dt.) 2 each and Kanyakumari, Mylaudi and Nagercoil (both Kanyakumari dt.) and Tiruvannamalai 1 each. The minimum temperatures rose appreciably at one or two places over north Tamil Nadu, rose at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, at one or two places over north interior Karnataka, rest north Tamil Nadu and changed little elsewhere over the region. They were markedly above normal at one or two places over Telangana, north interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, appreciably above normal at a few places over rest north interior Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh, at one or two places over rest Telangana, rest Rayalaseema, coastal Karnataka, south interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, above normal at many places over rest Tamil Nadu, at one or two places over rest coastal Andhra Pradesh, rest coastal Karnataka, Kerala and were generally normal over rest of the region.

Arogyavaram recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 18 degree Celsius in the plains of the region.

FORECAST (Valid until Tuesday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likley to occur at a few places over Kerala and Lakshadweep. Isolated rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, coastal Karnataka and south coastal Andhra Pradesh. Mainly dry weather prevail over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema and interior Karnataka.
