Pathanamthitta lifts title

KANNUR: Pathanamthitta lifted overall championship in the 15th State-level sports meet for the hearing-impaired students that concluded here on Sunday.

The Pathanamthitta district won the overall title with 219 points, followed by Ernakulam with 199 points and Kottayam with 126 points. Around 900 hearing-impaired school students participated in 67 athletic events as well as football, volleyball and table tennis games in the three-day event that ended on Sunday.

Pathanamthitta with 148 points also secured overall title in the male category, followed by Ernakulam with 94 points.

In the female category, Ernakulam bagged the title with 107 points, followed by Kottayam with 78 points. Pathanamthitta stood first in the male athletic category by winning 148 points, followed by Ernakulam with 66 points.

In the female athletic section, Ernakulam scored 79 points with Pathanamthitta close behind with 71 points.
