Monica is Hassan's first `Bhagyalakshmi'

HASSAN: Monica, who was born at 3 p.m. on April 1 in Hirebelaguli village in Holenarsipur taluk, became the first "Bhagyalakshmi" (beneficiary) girl in Hassan district. This has been announced by the Women and Child Welfare Department. Monica was born to Manjula and Rudra Murthy.

The H.D. Kumaraswamy Government had announced in it budget that the Government would deposit Rs. 10,000 in the name of baby girls born after April 1 in below poverty line families.

Sinchana, daughter of Nethravathi and Manjunatha from Konanuru village in Arkalgud taluk, who was born at 3.05 p.m. became the second Bhagyalakshmi beneficiary in the district.

Rekha who was born to Gangamma and Rangappa in Dibbur village in Arsikere taluk on April 1 night is the third beneficiary.

The parents are waiting for the fixed deposit receipt of Rs. 10,000 each as announced by the Government.
