Sports Reporter

Kothagudem: Hyderabad clinched both the men and women's titles in the 32nd AP senior inter-district basketball championship, defeating Krishna and Kurnool respectively at the Prakasam Stadium here on Sunday.

The men, consisting of junior India players, dominated the proceedings right from the beginning and outplayed Krishna 85-66. At half time, Hyderabad led 45-33. Height proved to be the advantage for Hyderabad, as the lanky Pankaj and Varun sunk baskets at will. Pankaj top-scored with 28 points.

The girls moved around the court like a well-oiled machine and outplayed Kurnool in every department. With effective marking, Hyderabad prevented the talented Saritha from unleashing three-pointers from the outer circle.
