Thiruvananthapuram: Preventive measures and medical treatment facilities have been augmented at Haripad, Chambakkulam, Kurathikkad, Veliyanad areas from where chikungunya cases continue to be reported, a press release issued by the office of the Health Minister said. Additional doctors have been posted at Kayamkulam and Arookkutty primary health centres to strengthen preventive activities. Directions have been issued to make available the service of junior health inspectors from Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Palakkad and Thrissur in the viral fever-affected areas in Alappuzha district. Arrangements have been made to make medicines available in sufficient quantities in all disease-affected areas.
