NELLORE: Six policemen including a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) have been placed under suspension for dereliction of duties

Director General of Police (DGP) Swaranjit Sen ordered suspension of DSP D V Kannaji Rao, Circle Inspector (CI) B P Tirupal, Sub Inspectors (SIs) K Ch Rama Rao and Shiek Abdul Subhan besides two constables after a departmental inquiry found they did not act in accordance with law in the case of a house demolition.

The house, at Balaji Nagar here, belonged to former BJP councillor K Krishna Murthy. It was demolished with poclains allegedly by G. Prasad on September 19. Murthy's family too was attacked.

Complaint ignored

Murthy lodged a complaint with police that he had incurred a loss of more than Rs. 4 lakhs and alleged that the local police did not act immediately. The policemen had allegedly taken money from Prasad.
