Overage issue raises its head again

BANGALORE: It was `Black Sunday' for more than 40 athletes as the Athletic Federation of India tightened its noose on the overage issue on the second day of the 22nd junior National athletic championship at the Sree Kanteerava stadium here.

The banned athletes: Bharat Kumar, A. Laxmiramm, G. Srikanth, K.U. Subbaiah, L. Venkatesh (all AP).

Satyam Kashyap, Brajesh Kumar, Naresh Kumar, Md. Sahbazuddin (all Bihar).

S. Krishna, Gendlal Sahu (both Chhattisgarh).

Mukesh Dahiya, Jankat Dilip, Shankar Kharadi, Manoj (all Gujarat).

Deepak, Manish, Rahul, Rajpal, Joginder Singh (all Haryana).

Mithilesh Singh, Jitendra Mishra, Pankaj K. Yadav (all Jharkhand).
