Andhra and Karnataka qualify

Margao: Defending champion Andhra cruised into the knock-out stage, registering an innings victory over Goa to collect five points — including one bonus point — in the last round of the South Zone under-15 Polly Umrigar Trophy tournament here on Sunday.

Karnataka also reached the next phase after taking the first innings honours in its drawn match against Hyderabad.

The scores:

Andhra 249 bt Goa 94 & 149 (Sk. Basha six for 39, Koteswara Rao four for 46).

Hyderabad 177 drew with Karnataka 253 for nine decl. (Dinesh Borvankar 68, Karun Nair 58, Shishir Bhavani 57). — PTI
