KOLLAM: Allocations for 36 educational institutions touching Rs.2.59 crore have been made from the Local Area Development Fund of Kollam MP P. Rajendran. This includes Rs.9.5 lakh for 11 institutions to purchase computers and Rs.10 lakh for implementing the Edusat programme at various schools.
For garbage disposal
In addition to this, Rs.22 lakh have been allocated to the Kollam Corporation for purchasing tow tipper lorries for garbage disposal. During the last financial year two tipper lorries were purchased by the Corporation from the MP's LAD fund. Rs.25 lakh have been allocated for the Paravur Municipal Council for purchasing a gas-based mobile crematorium; Rs.10 lakh for the District Hospital to purchase a generator and Rs. 25 lakh for the District Ayurveda Hospital for the same purpose.
New buildings
For construction of new building blocks an allocation of Rs. 10 lakh each has been made for the Perinad Higher Secondary School, the Kadappakada TKDM VHS, the Munroethuruthu Perungalam Government HSS, the Koikkal Government HSS, the Thattamala Government VHS, the Chathannur Government HSS, the Poruvazhi Government HSS, the Sooranad Government HSS, the Mangad Government HSS, the Government Nursing School, Kollam, the University B.Ed. College, Kollam, and the Anchaulmoodu Government Higher Secondary School.
