KARIMNAGAR: The Karimnagar One Town police have registered a case against a youth, N. Bapu Reddy, 22, on charge of abducting a minor girl and attempting to commit suicide by jumping from an overhead water tank near RTC bus station complex in Karimnagar town on Sunday. According to the Town CI, J. Amarender Reddy, the accused, Bapu Reddy climbed an overhead water tank and threatened to commit suicide demanding his `wife' back. The accused had eloped with a minor girl of Karimnagar town a week ago and garlanded her in a temple in Shanigaram village and claimed that their marriage was performed.
Complaint
The girl's parents lodged a complaint with the Two town police. They rescued the girl and handed her over to her parents. Irked over this, the accused climbed the water tank and threatened to commit suicide. The police rescued him by summoning the girl and later remanded him to custody. Out of five incidents of commit suicide bids, the police rescued four persons while, one person, Rahman, jumped to death in the town recently.
