Workshop on diabetic foot care

CHENNAI: A two-day Indo-US workshop on diabetic foot complications was held here to train diabetologists on treatment protocols for foot injuries and avoiding amputations in diabetes patients.

The event, which commenced on Friday, was hosted by the Diabetes Research Centre and MV Hospital for Diabetes, Royapuram, in association with Central Leather Research Institute.

Arabinda Mitra, executive director, Indo-US Science and Technology Forum, inaugurated the workshop.

A. Ramachandran and Vijay Viswanathan of MV Hospital and Arun Bal, president, Diabetic Foot Society of India, participated in the programme.
