Crossing named after Brahma Kumaris

NEW DELHI: The New Rohtak Road-Faiz Road crossing was named as "Brahma Kumaris Chowk" on Saturday. Karol Bagh Municipal Councillor Harshvardhan Sharma unveiled a stone plaque on the occasion. He commended the public service undertaken by the Brahma Kumaris institution. Addressing the gathering, Rajyogini Dadi Hirdaya Mohini of Brahma Kumaris said the name of the crossing would remind, inspire and guide the people to the path of spirituality, human values, peace and happiness.

`India set to become an economic gaint'

NEW DELHI: Haryana Governor A.R. Kidwai has said that India is rapidly heading on the path of progress and it will become the biggest economy of the world over the next 20 years. Dr. Kidwai was addressing the "Meri Dilli Awards-2006" function organised at FICCI Auditorium here this past week. He said that if we maintain the present trend of our growth of development, India would be economic power in the world by 2020. He appreciated the tradition of rewarding personalities who worked very hard in the progress of our country and our society.

Foundation stone laid for Barat Ghar

NEW DELHI: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ram Babu Sharma presided over a foundation stone laying ceremony of a "Barat Ghar" at Ashok Nagar in North-East Delhi on Sunday. The foundation stone was laid by Delhi Development and Revenue Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan. The East Delhi MP Sandeep Dikshit was the chief guest on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sharma said the construction of the "Barat Ghar" would be completed within a year at an estimated cost of Rs. 47 lakhs. He thanked the Irrigation and Flood Control Department of the Delhi Government for providing land for the "Barat Ghar".

DSIDC to help set up IT Corporation

NEW DELHI: In a move that will give a boost to Information Technology in the Capital, the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) will play a key role in setting up an IT Corporation of Delhi.

According to DSIIDC Managing Director Jalaj Shrivastava, the Corporation will be the implementing agency in the formation of the IT Corporation.

The decision to set up an IT Corporation was taken by the Delhi Cabinet recently.
