Placement cell for polytechnics soon

CHENNAI: The Department of Technical Education will soon start a placement cell for recruitment of students studying in the 215 polytechnic colleges in the State, according to R. Rajagopal, Commissioner for Technical Education.

Information about students in these institutions will be collected and matched with employer requirements, he said after presiding over a meeting of principals of 80 polytechnics in Chennai and other northern districts here on Friday. The department would facilitate teaching of soft skills to students.
